Average Color of the Entire Internet

Posted by: Chris Lesinski

"skinternet"

Scientists wasted lots of time and money on an elaborate art project — determining the average color of the universe. It's pictured above. More from NASA:

This color has become much less blue over the past 10 billion years, indicating that redder stars are becoming more prevalent. In a contest to better name the color, notable entries included skyvory, univeige, and the winner: cosmic latte.

Interestingly, when we calculated the average color of the internet, it was only slightly darker. It hasn't changed at all over the years, indicating that the internet is mostly people without clothing on — porn — always has been, always will be. We didn't have a contest yet, but we'd like to dub the color "skinternet".

Can you think of a better name? Leave it in the comments.

There Are Some Smart Answers

Posted by: Mike Pomranz

eigth-oz

Every Friday we talk about Stupid Questions, but we never talk about Smart Answers.

Sometimes, as an answerer, you gotta read between the lines a little.  Like the smart gentleman above.  He knew what this person meant when he or she asked how much an eighth of an ounce is.  Dollars and sense, baby.

Somewhere out there, I'd like to believe this same guy answered the question, "How do you play 8 ball?" with the answer, "Grab $200 bucks, a mirror and a straw, and find yourself some hookers."

There Are No Stupid Questions?: Poppin' the Question

Posted by: Chris Lesinski

toshHeader_noStupidQs

miarried

This guy must be about as serious about marriage as he is about spelling it. But I'll give him a break — the question is filed under "animal life," so maybe he's a jackrabbit or something.

And for the first time, I've also included a truly stupid answer! "No one cannot answer that question." That means EVERYONE must answer that question, in the comments.

Will you get marraied?

Flexing Dude Almost Hit By Lightning

Posted by: Chris Lesinski

This dude ran outside into a thunderstorm to flex his muscles for the camera. Then he almost got hit by lightning. Totally worth it!

His annoying wife freaks out: "INSIDE! INSIDE! INSIDE!" But the dude who was flexing in his white boardshorts should know better. He was safe now. Lightning never strikes the same douche bag twice.

I'm not a statistician or anything, but I think this somehow increases his odds of winning the lottery.

In fact, this video is all about odds. It's rare for lightning to strike near you. It's even rarer to catch that on video. But when both of those things happen together, it will find its way onto the internet.

The lesson: If you want to get a viral video on CollegeHumor, next time there's a thunderstorm, play some golf. Just don't forget to videotape the whole thing.

Tosh.0 Idol Results

Posted by: Joselyn Hughes

tosh.0idol

This week, we had two contestants singing "Blue" by Eiffel 65. Click here to check it out. And after a rough and very close race, we have our winner. It's Metacafe user "efusball," who doesn't have another song on his account to post, but he does have a couple other very interesting "pieces." One of which is simply titled, "We Have No Stinkin Janjaweedz." Take it away, efusball. Take it away.

Succeed Blog

Posted by: Chris Lesinski

BORING

Look what somebody came up with! It's succeedblog.org –- as in, the opposite of failblog.org.

They do posts like the “hamburger success” above (which, by the way, becomes a fail the moment someone tries to eat it). They have other images and videos of positivity. You get the idea.

Problem is SucceedBlog is a blog FAIL. Success is boring!

Have you ever seen a movie or a TV show where someone just keeps on succeeding over and over? No. That would be terrible. Can you imagine Wile E. Coyote feasting on roadrunner carcass after roadrunner carcass? No one wants to see that. The only time a race is exciting is when there's at least one loser.

Our culture revels in failure. And as our blog proves, we'll continue to revel in failure as well.
